Abstract

According to estimates from the World Health Organization, approximately 528 million people worldwide suffer from osteoarthritis (OA), with knee OA being the most common type, and around 15–20% of the global population is affected by hypertension, totaling an estimated 1.28 billion individuals. Both conditions require comprehensive and integrated management to prevent further complications. This case report aims to apply family medicine services by identifying internal and external risk factors, clinical issues, and implementing evidence-based management that is patient-centered, family-involved, and community-oriented. The methodology included collecting primary data through history taking, physical examination, and home visits to assess family and environmental aspects, along with secondary data obtained from the patient's medical records. The patient, a 68-year-old woman (Mrs. NM), presented with knee pain and was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and hypertension, and received treatment aligned with current clinical guidelines and scientific literature. Evaluation revealed a reduction in clinical symptoms and an improvement in the knowledge of both the patient and her family regarding her condition. Through a holistic and comprehensive approach, this case demonstrated success in enhancing the patient's quality of life.
